PUMP OPERATING PRINCIPLES

The gear set draws oil from the tank through the built-in diesel filter and transfers it to a valve that regulates oil pressure into the nozzle passage. All oil that does not go through the nozzle line will be discharged through the return valve to the return line in a two-pipe installation or, if it is a one-pipe installation, back to the suction port in the gear-set.

During the starting period when the gear speed increases, all the oil will pass through special flats in the piston, returning to the return.
